Dec 15 | 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm CST
Lets make various styles of homemade tamales using masa, corn husks, and banana leaves. Here we will learn about the history and different styles of tamales. We will also cover how to make and cook them from start to finish.
Making homemade tamales is a deeply rewarding, celebratory tradition. Often made in large batches with family and friends (a gathering known as a tamalada), it involves spreading a flavorful corn masa dough onto softened corn husks, filling them with savory meats or chiles, and steaming them to tender perfection.
Tamales have always held a special place in my heart. It is something my family always enjoys as a meal on Christmas Eve and it just wouldn’t be the same without them.
