Green Living: Sustainable Sips & Cleaning Tips

Celebrate Earth Day with the World of Whirlpool and learn some new ways to take little steps to reduce your carbon footprint.  Join us for this happy hour and DIY event to learn some green cleaning tips as well as make your own natural, all-purpose cleaning spray to take home with you.

We’ll serve up a cocktails made from a “shrub,” which is an easy way to preserve fruit before it spoils.  And you’ll get to snack on tasty veggie and bean dips from Chicago company Here, which uses both local produce and “ugly” produce to create delicious dips, juices, and salad dressings.

As a bonus, you’ll also get to learn some quick tips from our in-house laundry and dishwashing expert on how to make the most of your high-efficiency appliances!  Another one of our local partners, expert farmers and composters The Urban Canopy will also be on site to provide tips and tricks for at-home composting.

Included in this workshop:

  • Make and take home a DIY all-purpose cleaning spray in a glass spray bottle
  • Live chef demonstration
  • Enjoy the drinks and snacks prepared by our chef (w/ or w/o alcohol)
  • Printed recipes
  • Washer/Dryer/Dishwasher tips and tricks from a World of Whirlpool appliance expert
